Vinyl transfers are apparel "decals" that are cut out of special textile-compatible vinyls. The design must first be vectorized, then cut out of a single color vinyl material using a digital vinyl cutter. The decal is then adhered to the garment by applying heat and pressure. Unlike older vinyls, most of today's heat transfer vinyls are rated to last over 50 washes, and are compatible with all sorts of materials. They are also available in many types of styles including glitter, holographic, neon, and glow in the dark. Because each element and each color in a design must be cut out individually, vinyl heat transfers work best with 1-2 color designs with minimal detail.
